This fundraiser will help maintain the Alix Rice Skatepark and keep it skateable all year long….kidding, that’s impossible. We live in Buffalo, it snows here so let’s temper expectations. It will be skateable at least 8 months out of the year. 9 months if you decide to brave the elements.
Do your part and contribute to the skatepark you’ll be hucking yourself around in. See you all on March 26th. Call the shop for details. 716-837-8743.

Yes, you read that correctly. After years of litigation, exhausting all resources, and some honest blood, sweat, and tears, the Alix Rice Memorial Skatepark will begin construction in April or May.
The final design of the park will be presented at an Alix Rice Memorial Skatepark Fundraiser on March 26th over at the Main-Transit Firehall.
We are beyond excited to finally have the Alix Rice Memorial Skatepark built. The location of the park will be right next to the Northtown Center in Amherst, across from UB’s North Campus on Millersport Highway. The park will be a great addition to the number of outdoor FREE skateparks that have been and are being built in Buffalo.
The Alix Rice Memorial Skatepark will feature two bowls and a street section. It’ll be the first skatepark that will offer a West Coast construction to it.
The Buffalo News offered a great write up on the park and how it finally came to fruition. Click here to check it out.
Below is a rendering of the Alix Rice Memorial Skatepark. It’s not the final design but it’s a pretty solid idea of what will be built.
Ride Kissing Bridge this Friday January 15th 2016 from 4pm – 1am for only $8.00.
Whether your making this a cheep date or just another great night out, this LNGN is here to kick the 2016 season off right.

We are proud to be a small business. We are proud to be family owned and operated. Snowboarding and Skateboarding aren’t the biggest money making industries. I know that, you know that, we all know that unless you have a sponsorship from some huge multinational corporation with deep pockets. But money isn’t the reason we put in the hours to push snowboarding and skateboarding, and as cliché as it is, we do it because we enjoy it. And no, this isn’t some big sob story about how tough it is running a small business or anything like that, most of you are aware of how tough it is because you most likely work for a local or small company. So you know how appreciative local businesses are when they get new or returning customers.
Small Business Saturday is a day for us, for you, and for the 28 million other small business across America. Think small, shop local, and stick it to the man today. Cheers.
It’s that time of the year again, kegs are being tapped, hot dogs are being grilled, and high school graduated teenagers are enjoying the only summer of their lives where they literally have nothing to worry about. In honor of this tradition, we are offering those who just graduated high school FREE GRIP with any Deck purchase. Additionally, since high school just finished, if your bring in your report card or whatever the hell they’re calling them these days, you can get up to 30% off clothing and shoes purchases. This promotion will be running until Father’s Day, which is ironically Go Skateboarding Day (June 21).
Hey I’m trying to score points with the teacher today. DON’T SCREW IT UP.
Forget about your girlfriend, boyfriend, wife, husband this Valentine’s Day and get some action you don’t have buy dinner for at KB Grind’s Get A Heart On Rail Jam. This rail jam will be on Valentine’s Day from 6-10 PM at Kissing Bridge. KB Grind has been putting in work this season on getting a new feature constructed and fortunately for you all, it will be inaugurated at the Get A Heart On Rail Jam. For details and to ask any questions, visit the event on Facebook and join it.
He may be old and cynical and everyone may hate him but he speaks the truth.
You should check out Walker Ryan’s Part “A Far Walk From Home”. Why? Cause there’s some pretty cool global spots in there and the man can switch flip and switch 360 flip over some gnarly stuff like a boss.
We’d also like to give you the inside scoop of what’s coming new to the shop. If you’ve heard of Welcome Skateboards, you’re in luck. The first thing you’ll notice about these is the deck shapes. Give a man a bandsaw and let the creativity explode. Now we won’t tell you which ones we having coming in but we can tell you that a have a good amount ordered. We suggest you go over and check out the shape guide here. The Time Traveler, Nimbus 3000 and Squidbeak are some of our favorites. The team’s skating is definitely unorthodox but there aren’t guidelines in skating so have at it. Pretty creative moves..
Here it is. We finally got our shit together and made an edit. Enjoy!
And for most of us, getting old sucks. You lose hair, put on some weight (maybe not if you would get off of your couch and stop watching the battle at the berrics all damn day) and have to pay more bills. But the the fun part about skating is you can always push and throw down tricks that you know by heart. Just be careful not to slam because you might actually break something. I don’t know what I’m talking about, just watch this. Ishod’s SOTY trip. It’s nawwsty.
First thing’s first. If you haven’t heard through the grapevine or don’t check the Berrics during winter because you believe skateboarding doesn’t exist during the winter, you gotta get your priorities in line. Battle at the Berrics 7 is coming up and guess what…you can enter. Pros vs. Joes. Go ahead get going. Those nollie tre flips aren’t gonna land themselves. But it is true that the past few Battle at the Berrics have been repeats of household names so this whole Pros vs. Joes thing will be a nice change of pace. And go watch Chaz Ortiz’s Battle Commander. Pow. Mind blown right?
In other news, Justin Fronius snagged Snowboarder’s Rookie of the Year and a took giant shit on everybody else. Okay that may have been a little drastic but the kid’s got hammers. Just watch his edit below. Getting praises from Devun Walsh on backcountry hits? Heavy stuff considering he’s big on urban riding. But that’s what you have to do these days. Hittin’ rails all day is fun & sweet but if you can’t step your game up in the big bad backcountry, well you might as well hang ’em up. Remember when your parents told you that you have to be well-rounded? Same rule applies here. Cheers, Justin.
ALSO, a heavy trailer is on Snowboarder Mag’s website right now for their up and coming movie ‘Foreword’. And if you watch it closely, you’ll see Niagara Falls (at the shot about 16 seconds in)…shout out to Jaeger & Garrett for stopping by the shop while they were in town. Always good to see support for local shops. If you’re not getting hot and bothered watching this trailer then break out the K-Y. You got young bucks all with an assortment of styles coming together for a video that looks like it will melt faces. Kick back & enjoy.
That’s all we got for right now, stay tuned for updates on events that are coming up. Oh yeah, here’s a little edit from our friends over at schuss while we were at Mt. Bachelor.
