We just finished cranking out a wide variety of shop tees that are now available for purchase at the shop. Sizes range from M – XL and are available in a selection of different colors and logos. Come get one before they’re gone. Limited supply. The ones located below are just a few of what we came up with.
Pocket Tees are $15.99 and the non-pocket tees are $13.99. If you purchase an item over $20, you get the shirt half off. Cheers.
*Scientific studies by Scientists have proved that these shirts will make you 95% more attractive and 110% better at skating.
Three years ago in July of 2011, Alix Rice was on her way home from a night of work at Bocce’s Club Pizzeria on Hopkins Road. She was pushing home on her longboard along Heim Road when she was struck by a drunk driver. She was killed instantly. The driver of the car? Dr. James Corasanti, a well respected member of the medical community. Corasanti did not stop to see what he had hit, nor did he realize he hit something since he had been having drinks previously at a “Martini Golf” event at Transit Valley Country Club. Corasanti received a one-year jail sentence (in which he was released early from) and a misdemeanor DWI. He was acquitted of charges such as second-degree manslaughter, second-degree vehicular manslaughter and a list of others like leaving the scene of an incident without making a report.
The skateboarding community, Alix’s Family and many others along with our shop pushed forward through the pain of feeling injustice to help put together something we can always remember Alix by. A skatepark in Amherst, NY. The Alix Rice Memorial Skatepark is set to be built in Amherst near the Northtown Center. The creation of the Alix Rice Peace Park Foundation has been an integral part of gaining funding, raising awareness and piecing together the puzzle in order to get the Skatepark built.
So this Sunday, July 13th, we will be remembering Alix in an honorary walk from Williamsville North High School to her Memorial Site on Heim Road. The same route she took on that fateful July night. Please feel free to bring your board to push as we walk her trail. The walk will begin at 10AM and after we will be visiting the location of the spot for the Alix Rice Memorial Skatepark. There will be Alix Rice Peace Park Foundation merchandise there for sale in which the proceedings will go towards funding for the park. Being a skater in Buffalo, or more specifically Amherst, you know that parks are few and far between, especially with Xtreme Wheels closing down for the summer. That leaves two, the GHH Skatepark and the LaSalle Skate Plaza. Let’s bring one to Amherst. Show the Buffalo and Amherst Community the amount of support our culture and community have for Alix Rice and her Memorial Skatepark. If you have questions, contact the shop.
On April 25th, we will be throwing a Barbeque/Skate Demo/Game of SKATE & tons more with our friends over at Schussmeisters Ski Club. The BBQ will be taking place at the Basketball Courts behind the Ellicott Dorms at UB’s North Campus. They’re located off of Frontier Rd, parking will be available in the dorm parking lots. The Game of SKATE is limited to 18 contestants, so if you feel you’re up to the challenge sign up early! We will be giving prizes to 1st, 2nd & 3rd places. Sorry no 4th place prizes. The itinerary is located below.

Game of SKATE Start Time: 5:30 PM

We’ll be selling Hot Dogs & Chocolate and all kinds of goodies for a $1 with all proceeds going to the Alix Rice Peace Park Foundation. We’re bringing the manny pads, boxes, rails & kicker for your skating pleasure. Be sure to get in on the highest ollie contest or the longest manual contest as well. Head to our facebook event page for more information. We’ll see you homies there! Bring your girlfriends…or friends that are girls.
Here’s a map incase you do not know where the Basketball courts are!
You should check out Walker Ryan’s Part “A Far Walk From Home”. Why? Cause there’s some pretty cool global spots in there and the man can switch flip and switch 360 flip over some gnarly stuff like a boss.
We’d also like to give you the inside scoop of what’s coming new to the shop. If you’ve heard of Welcome Skateboards, you’re in luck. The first thing you’ll notice about these is the deck shapes. Give a man a bandsaw and let the creativity explode. Now we won’t tell you which ones we having coming in but we can tell you that a have a good amount ordered. We suggest you go over and check out the shape guide here. The Time Traveler, Nimbus 3000 and Squidbeak are some of our favorites. The team’s skating is definitely unorthodox but there aren’t guidelines in skating so have at it. Pretty creative moves..
Here it is. We finally got our shit together and made an edit. Enjoy!
And for most of us, getting old sucks. You lose hair, put on some weight (maybe not if you would get off of your couch and stop watching the battle at the berrics all damn day) and have to pay more bills. But the the fun part about skating is you can always push and throw down tricks that you know by heart. Just be careful not to slam because you might actually break something. I don’t know what I’m talking about, just watch this. Ishod’s SOTY trip. It’s nawwsty.
First thing’s first. If you haven’t heard through the grapevine or don’t check the Berrics during winter because you believe skateboarding doesn’t exist during the winter, you gotta get your priorities in line. Battle at the Berrics 7 is coming up and guess what…you can enter. Pros vs. Joes. Go ahead get going. Those nollie tre flips aren’t gonna land themselves. But it is true that the past few Battle at the Berrics have been repeats of household names so this whole Pros vs. Joes thing will be a nice change of pace. And go watch Chaz Ortiz’s Battle Commander. Pow. Mind blown right?
In other news, Justin Fronius snagged Snowboarder’s Rookie of the Year and a took giant shit on everybody else. Okay that may have been a little drastic but the kid’s got hammers. Just watch his edit below. Getting praises from Devun Walsh on backcountry hits? Heavy stuff considering he’s big on urban riding. But that’s what you have to do these days. Hittin’ rails all day is fun & sweet but if you can’t step your game up in the big bad backcountry, well you might as well hang ’em up. Remember when your parents told you that you have to be well-rounded? Same rule applies here. Cheers, Justin.
ALSO, a heavy trailer is on Snowboarder Mag’s website right now for their up and coming movie ‘Foreword’. And if you watch it closely, you’ll see Niagara Falls (at the shot about 16 seconds in)…shout out to Jaeger & Garrett for stopping by the shop while they were in town. Always good to see support for local shops. If you’re not getting hot and bothered watching this trailer then break out the K-Y. You got young bucks all with an assortment of styles coming together for a video that looks like it will melt faces. Kick back & enjoy.
That’s all we got for right now, stay tuned for updates on events that are coming up. Oh yeah, here’s a little edit from our friends over at schuss while we were at Mt. Bachelor.
If you haven’t seen, which you probably haven’t because we didn’t really pay too much attention to social media while we were out there but, some of us headed out to Mt. Bachelor on the Schuss Excursion Trip last week. A few words to describe the trip are no tax, powder, bluebird days, trollfoot, decriminalization, fish tacos, breweries, park laps and dollar drinks. Oregon is a hell of state. And the city of Bend is one hospitable town. Free pizza and lasagna, shit, might as well throw in free drinks and continental breakfasts. Oh that’s right, you guys did. Next time you face the decision of a place to go for a trip, choose Mt. Bachelor. Creative park, tree runs for days, tasty bloody marys and it’s where Superpark takes place. Go ahead and try to argue. There is some footage that’s being processed right now into a nice little edit so you’ll have to wait for that but it’s a Phatman x Schussmeisters collab. Which we are real stoked for. To hold you over, we’ll post some pictures. And if you’re wondering what Trollfoot means, well…you just had to be there.
In other news, save the date for Feb. 9th. cause we have our 2nd Annual Alix Rice Peace Park Fundraiser at the Main-Transit Fire Hall. Click here to learn more about it and all the fun stuff we got going on there. As you know by now, we’ve been trying to get this skatepark built in honor of Alix Rice and to add to the number of parks in Buffalo. So come out and show some support so we can get this thing built. That’s it and all for now. Keep your eye out for an edit. Stay tuned…
There’s nothing better than a fresh, cold brew after you’re done riding. Or maybe the midday pick-me-up pint. Either way, beer’s good. At pretty much anytime of the day. Don’t say the morning isn’t because you’ve never been to a Bills tailgate then. People are downing beers like orange juice at 8:30 AM. Regardless, nothing is more rewarding after a solid session than a few cold ones and here is our list of a few that you should try or maybe already are throwing back but didn’t think anybody else was sipping on. Cheers to those always down for the Après-shred-party
Number 6: Yeungling – America’s Oldest Brewery. You gonna argue with that? Yeungling is great because it’s somewhat inexpensive, not too heavy and you won’t get sick of drinking them if you happen to stay at the bar all night. It’s an amber lager. Don’t know if that means anything to you but if you haven’t tried it yet, go pick up a tall boy from your near gas station and enjoy the taste of what Pennsylvania has been offering for more than century.
Number 5: Magic Hat #9 – Things that come out of Vermont are typically pretty good. Ice Cream, Cheddar Cheese and Lucas Magoon (Gremlinz Crew) are just a few examples that this state produces some pretty good shit. Coming right out of Burlington, Magic Hat’s #9 Not Quite Pale Ale is sure to give you a good pick me up after a day out on the mountain. It’s got a distinctive taste without the over-powering hoppy taste you get from some other pale ales. Take note, we’re not beer aficionados. But drink this.
Number 4: PBR – Cheap. Iconic. Hipster? Sure. But before Pibbers became the hipster’s beer of choice it was the solid, trusted american beer of blue-collar working taking-no-shit dudes who didn’t want to spend more than $1.50 on a beer. Luckily for us, it’s made a comeback and we get to enjoy this golden, cheap brew for those days on the mountain when you didn’t bring a lunch and you ate the free soup crackers. Thanks for being there when we’re broke Pabst.
Number 3: Newcastle Brown Ale – If you’re lucky enough to find a bar that’s a quick walk away from the mountain that has this magical stuff on tap, grab yourself about 3 pints, order of fries and wait for the ladies to flock to you like the salmon of the Capistrano. This most likely won’t happen but you’ll still have a solid buzz walking home alone. Goes down smooth and it doesn’t taste like crap. Win win.
Number 2: Sam Adams Winter Lager – Robust & Spicy. Just like that gal in high school. Maybe not the case but anyways, this hearty brew is a great choice after a long day of shredding and possibly taking a few slams in the park. Simmer down and recover with a Sam Adams Winter Lager.
Number 1: EBC Blue Berry Wheat Beer – Yes. Going local on this one. So you know that if you’re down near EVL you can find this tasty but not too sweet brew on tap. It’s the perfect balance between refreshing wheat beer and blueberries. It’s not too sweet so don’t feel guilty or girly order more than two. We say two because one is never enough with these, especially after a day of hot laps in the Foxfire park at the Valley. Hey, even if you make your way into Ellicottville stop by the EBC Bar & Restaurant to get one right from the source. That wraps up the list. Go hit a kink and grab a drink. Cheers.
*Note – This list is completely decided by us. Who, are in fact, not beer connoisseurs nor experts. We just like beer and this what we like to drink after a day shredding. You may disagree with us but that’s completely fine. Go ahead and drink a wine cooler then if this gets your panties in a bunch. Cheers
