Stuff that’s New

New Snowboards, Boots & Bindings and New Skate Shoes

Been lacking on the new product posting. Our bad. We’ll make it up by posting some pictures of some new product in the shop. Also, Come get your boards tuned before the first snow falls and everyone rushes in.

Snowboard Boots

burtonboots

Burton’s Rampant & Hail. Rampant’s softer, better for park. And the Hail is a stiff All-mountain boot. Try on both and see what you like.

nike-vapen-gamma 14-m-bt-nk-vape-bv

Yeah, the rumors are true. We’re carrying Nike Snowboarding. We have the Vapen in stock with two colorways. Gamma & Black/Blue.

capitathunderstick

Limited Edition Union x Capita Collab Thunderstick Flite Bindings. These are rare. Like the Bills making a solid draft pick within the past ten years rare. Beneath the bindings is the brand spankin’ NEW Capita Thunderstick. This board will make your friends jealous, girls want you and empower you with three-eyed tiger abilities. Although none of this is true, it’s a bad ass traditional camber board that can rip all over the mountain.

Onto new skate shoes…

lindero

Vans Lindero in Navy Blue. Vulcanized with Waffle Grip. Classic like the hot dog.

rowleypros

There’s a saying that you’re not supposed to mess with an Englishman or an Englishman’s mother or their tea or something but these are the new Vans Rowley Pro models. If you’ve seen his Battle Commander then you know these are weapons of mass shreduction. Just don’t say anything about his mum.

nikekoston2

Finally the Nike Koston 2’s. Black on Gum sole. Lunarlon insole. One piece toe cap. Great boardfeel. Got a feeling Koston will eventually switch careers and become a golfer. He’s hooked up anyways.

That’s a quick update for you guys. We’ll be getting a ton of new product in during the month for the winter season. Once we get it all settled, we’ll put up as much product as we can. We ARE trying to run a business here. Jeez. Adios.

2nd Annual Fifth Season Festival

It’s that time of year again. Time to break out the sweaters, the flannels and dust off your boots. We’re kickstarting the season early. We’re happy to be apart of Schussmeisters 2nd Annual Fifth Season Festival. Last year we brought in all the boxes and skate stuff for everyone to shred and we’re doing it again! Holiday Valley will be bringing in the fun along with some snow boxes and rails to get your whistle wet before the resorts open up for the season. The event will begin at 3 PM with the skate jam kicking it off. So next thursday clear your schedule and head over to The U Bar for some skatin’, some shreddin’ and some good ol’ fashioned college fun. Bar Party after for those of legal boozing age.

Download this flyer and pass it around to your friends and sisters.

Here’s an edit of last’s year First Annual Fifth Season Festival. The bar footage wasn’t allowed to be put in.

Port Colborne Edit!

So we decided to wander over to Port Colborne and see what they had to offer at their local park. Of course the camera was brought. Thanks Canada! You guys rule at poutine and skateparks. and hockey. and beer.

Hopefully we’ll be back over to skate the St. Catharines park soon. and snag some poutine.

This weather right now is a bummer but you can always go to x-wheels to get your fix. We’re starting to get some more snow stuff in so that’s pretty rad. Oh and we have those super ultra limited CAPiTA skate decks in. They’re all 8.25 so come on in and grab one. We just got some Coal Headwear products in. Looking like we’re gonna have a pretty fun season ahead of us. All last year’s snow stuff is still 30-50% off but you already know that by now. Also we love when people fall. Gotta love Thrasher’s Hall of Meat. But this could’ve easily been avoided. Just pop an ollie dude. C’mon man.

Even though falling is funny, it sucks when it happens to you but just get up and walk it off. Don’t be a wuss like every other kid that watches MTV and is afraid to take a tumble. Kids these days…anyways enjoy the rest of this god awful weather weekend and cozy up with your favorite film. I’m going with Fully Flared or Sorry. It’s not winter just yet.

Girls Girls Girls

So I don’t know if anyone has checked out the Berrics lately but they recently put up an edit coming from girls belonging to the Poseiden Foundation  at obviously, the berrics. Elissa Steamer is probably the only girl skater that comes to your mind when you think of girls that skate. But watch this, because the playing field is not just for dudes anymore. Holy smokes. These chicks can rip. And not just a rock to fakie or a kickflip. The opener is from Nora Vasconcellos, who one, is gorgeous and two, puts down some pretty gnarly tricks. She’s a keeper for sure. Did you see that frontside air over the hip?… meow.

Here at the shop we’re already nervous around girls, so the ones that can shred…might as well just make it 6th grade again and make us the kook picking his nose dreaming of those kinda chicks. Definitely give credit where credit is due and be on the lookout for some female skaters on the rise. Check out Poseiden Foundation too. Great cause. Keeping the sport alive.

Wes Kremer’s Run & Gun was interesting to watch. Did he give a shit? Maybe. Did Bambi’s mom get shot by a deer? Yeah. The choice is up to you. Click here to watch.

Snowboard stuff coming in very soon. Keep an ear out for ’em. Happy Monday Y’all

What I’m listening to today.

Snowboard Films Preview. Our Opinion

It’s about that time of year again when all the teasers and previews you watched over at YoBeat and Snowboarder with your pants down over summer have come to full circle. Opening up 2014’s, is it considered next year’s films? Doesn’t matter, but kicking down the door is Lick The Cat’s film, ‘Project LTC’ which is now available to watch for free over at snowboardmag.com. The LTC crew consists of anybody who’s down to ride for ’em but some names that are familiar are Sage Kotsenburg, Sam Taxwood, Ben Bilodeau, Spencer Schubert and Max & Gus Warbington (DeadLung is in there too). From the looks of the video, they’re always down to party. Morning, Day or Night. I’d hide your girlfriend, sister, mom and grandma from these dudes cause nobody’s safe.lick_the_cat_Mammoth_snowboarding_videos

I could sit here and tell you all the 270’s on or pretzel outs and how many rotations that were nailed but if you really want to know just go watch the ‘effin movie. It’s a got bangin’ soundtrack too. When the last time you heard Sean Kingston in a video part? It’ll probably re-ignite that guy’s career. Overall ‘Project LTC’ is a FUN movie to watch. It gets you hyped to go shred and do stupid shit with your buds. Enough with the serious Gatorade-esque editing, its making everybody uncomfortable. Kudos to Lick the Cat for making another easy going movie to watch.

OTHER MOVIES TO GET FULLY TORQUED FOR:

Nike’s “Never Not”

It’s Nike so it will probably be good. Two Parts to it. Starring Gigi Rüf, Justin Bennee, Johnnie Paxson, Halldor Helgason, Nicolas Müller, Jed Anderson and others. It’ll be a clean and sharp video. Drops mid September.

Transworld’s “Nation”

Some big names in this video with expected bigger parts. From Austin Sweetin to DCP. Quite the variety of riders which all have different styles. This formula usually equals a pretty rad movie.

Videograss’ “The Last Ones”

Creative snowboarding at its finest. Gnarly crew. Gnarly tricks. Balls to the wall attitude. Already premiered with damn good reviews. The ender is from a fella from the great state of Minnesota. Personally pretty torqued on this film (cause we’re so hipster).

Burton’s 4-part series “[SNOWBOARDING]”

Street. Backcountry. Resort. and Women’s riding. Not much else you really can ask for. It’s a four part series so calm yourself and be patient. The teaser is well done so the expectations are high from the boys & girls from Burton.

Jake Blauvelt’s “Naturally”

Backcountry ain’t no walk in the park. Blauvelt’s “Naturally” took two years to film and get ready to go. That’s determination and having riders like Kazu, Eric Jackson and Terje Haakonsen with parts. Hot damn. Drops Friday, September 11th.

Absinthe’s “Dopamine”

Absinthe does a killer job on videos. After last year’s “Resonance”, everyone is expecting a film to match and exceed. Excited to see parts from Brandon Cocard, Blair Habernicht, Cale Zime, Bode Merrill and Victor De Le Rue.  Just a few heavy hitters to be featured in this upcoming film.

Think Thank “Is Brain Dead and Having a Heart Attack”

Think Thank comes into the season swinging with “Is Brain Dead and Having a Heart Attack.” Brandon Hammid, Jaeger Bailey, Ted Borland, Brandon Reis, Sammy Luebke, Nick Visconti, Curtis Woodman, Sean Genovese…I’m sorry are those enough names to get you stoked for this movie? That’s not even the full list. We got a winner.

That’s just a shortlist of whats coming out for the 2014 season. Transworld has already done the work of getting the teasers/previews for you on their site. Click the link to waste about a half hour watching the teasers. Make sure you turn off the lights and lock the door too. Some of the videos are already out so don’t be a sleazeball and steal them off the internet. If you already have well then…you have a Taco-ing awaiting you this season.

Happy Labor Day. Good luck at work tomorrow. Watch out for the case of the Tuesday’s…

Something for your Saturday

So we all know Geoff Rowley.  Incredible skater, Outdoorsy guy, Englishman, huge fan of Motörhead. And if you have been keeping up with the Berrics then you know he was selected as Battle Commander. Stop what you’re doing right now and go watch it. The part is stupid good. Set to some Beatles (of course, Rowley’s from Liverpool, so what other band would you expect?) the part has everything…bails, absolute hammers and appearances by Koston, Gonzalez and Jamie Thomas. Personally, this has been the best Battle Commander this year. Miller’s part was solid and so was Jamie’s, but Rowley’s just annihilates them both. If you want to debate us then check the other ones out right here.

http://flipskateboards.com

I like to think that skaters are like wine, the older they get the better and more complex they become. Watching Geoff put together his part was creative as all hell. You can’t disagree that his part has been one of the more creative ones. Here’s to you Geoff. Keep killing it and hopefully Flip decides to create another video before you get attacked by a bear out hunting. Cheers mate or whatever English people say.

Back to School kicks from Emerica.

It is our pleasure to present The Reynolds Low.

Lightweight. Comfortable. And Breathable. Actually Breathable is an understatement. Carries the full-length G6 high-rebound foam. Great for heavy impact landings. Clean one piece toe cap for better flick and durability. Pretty much a gift sent by the Shoe Gods.

Can’t beat a Classic. Especially with Brandon Westgate’s signature on ’em.
The Heritic Westgate.

heritic

The Heritic Westgate has a nice foam footbed to provide your puppies with an ability to have softer landings without comprising durability. The Heritics have been classics for more than a decade. It’s always a good feeling to have a shoe you can trust. We believe in The Heritic.

Delivery from Nike SB

koston2

Koston 2 from Nike. Lunarlon insole. One piece toe cap. Perforated tongue and heel allows for better ventilation. No more sweaty, smelly feet. Great cushion, ever better boardfeel and control. Koston wears ’em and look where he is. Self explanatory.

teameditiontan

Nike Team Edition 2. Brown and Black colorway. Great shoe for boardfeel with a vulcanized rubber sole. Easy to break in and start skating with right away. Or kick back and have a few cold ones while wearing them. Your choice. We do a little bit of both.
